Sort of like. The reckoning but with geeks.
On my left I have a box of unopened Mario cards, then the official folder it goes into. Then another official folder for Marvel heroes. I also have a pile of Mimaque Pokemon cards which I opened last week and need to put into a new folder. Yes. My obsession and geek love is trading cards. I have collected them since I was 13 years old and always loved looking at them. I wish they would bring out an app where I could put them all. Pokemon apps are rife but my collection consists of at least 50 different sets.
I think the set I’m most happy with is the Simpsons ones. four massive folders containing the rarest of cards (I paid £120 for a single one) and I love thinking of them and looking through them. Not in some maniacal “mwahaha I have them all bow down to me” but a more OCDesq satisfaction that I have them. I would love to finish a few of the other sets I have. To be honest, I have to stay away from eBay and search the term “Unopened trading cards” because I will not sleep for hours as I scroll through them all. I’ll collect any of them and the best for me is to buy a box of them and just collect them that way. I don’t put them in order really if it’s a random box because I probably won’t ever buy a box again unless it’s to seal it. This leads onto…
I love getting trading card packs from the 70s, and 80s and keeping them sealed. I would like nothing more than to send them off to be properly sealed as not only would this add to the value but peace of mind for me that nothing could really damage them while they are being stored.
The next big thing in my life is comics. But that’s a post for another time.
I just wanted to prove that not everything is drama llama on my blog.
