Short Story: Loneliness

The house was dark and silent. The only sound was the ticking of the clock in the hallway.

The man sat in his living room, alone. He had been alone for a long time, and he was starting to get used to it.

But tonight, he felt different. Tonight, he felt the loneliness creeping in.

He looked around the empty room, and he felt a chill run down his spine. He knew he wasn’t alone.

Something was watching him.

He could feel its eyes on him, even though he couldn’t see it.

He tried to ignore it, but he couldn’t. The feeling of being watched was too strong.

He stood up and started to pace the room. He was scared, but he didn’t know what to do.

He felt like he was going crazy.

He finally couldn’t take it anymore. He ran out of the house and into the night.

He didn’t stop running until he couldn’t run anymore.

He collapsed on the ground, exhausted and scared.

He closed his eyes and wished that he wasn’t alone.
