Well, my parents come from different countries. My Mum was Dutch and my Dad was Scottish. Both had diferent hertitages as you can imagine. The Scottish side I was more intersted in, especially the food side of things. My Granny used to cook some beautiful tripe with all the trimmings. Then there is haggis which I love. Me and my Dad discovered a chip selling it fried. It was awesome, granted this was over 20 years ago when I was going up to Scotland every other month. But yeah it opened my eyes to different food and peoples preconcived opinions on the scottish way of food.
The Dutch side was also mixed with some suranese elements so nasi goreng, meat balls, salmon salad, little pancakes. All sorts.
I’m aware I have made this all about food purely because I’m hungry. Dammit.
