When do I feel most at ease?
I would have to say that I’m most at ease when listening to music. Usually best with my headphones on as I can crank it right up and drown out everything. It can be any type of music; my taste is very broad. I think its all to do with the vibrations that music causes in your ears. Something soothing about it.
Listening to white noise or more specifically the sound of a hair dryer calms me instantly. Its a nightmare when D is getting ready in the morning and I’m sat next to her on the sofa. I’ll just be sat there slowly falling asleep. Then the warmth of it. Can already feel myself falling asleep.
I’m of the ilk that songs all hold a personal meaning. Not just by lyrics but by location to where you have listened to it. So for example, I’m listening to “The Producers” which is a musical, lyrics mean nothing but the memory attached to it is walking to work in Llandudno back in 2006 and trying not to burst into song. The lyrics are still good but I can close my eyes and relax in the beautiful memory of walking on the promanade with the waves crashing against the pebbles and the smell of salt in the air, the feeling of wind & sand against your face. Love it.
Goes for crap music as well. Usually Nickel Back. “How your remind me” or whatever its called. Very fond memories of slamming the next song on rapidly before my ears bleed.
